Rhythm Kids®: Early Instrument Explorers

Class Description  Rhythm Kids®: Early Instrument Explorers accompanies your child further along on their musical journey before they are ready for formal private instrument instruction.  Each week, we explore music as we sing, move, and play to rhythms inspired by musical traditions around the world, building upon many of the favorite songs children learned during Music Together® Family Classes.  Students learn to compose, choreograph, and conduct as they play—and play with!—a variety of musical instruments: Orff-Method xylophones, West African djembe drums, percussion instruments, recorders and, the most important instruments of all, their voices and their bodies.  As they build their foundations in Rhythm and melody, children naturally build musicality that helps them prepare for more formal music lessons. Opportunities to solo, work in ensembles, and improvise support social and listening skills, self-expression and self-confidence. This is a group class for children ages Kindergarten to 1st class (older 4's to 7) with the option to drop your children off, or stay. Open to all- Previous participation in a Music Together Family Class is not necessary to register for this class.
